Danish carpentry business expands into laboratory sector with Alfa-Omega acquisition

A Danish family-owned carpentry business has acquired a 50% stake in Alfa-Omega, which will now operate as Alfa-Omega Lab, marking it's entry into the laboratory and clinic furnishing market. The partnership aims to strengthen both companies' positions and deliver customised, future-proof solutions for clients in biotech, pharmaceuticals, and educational institutions.

Jytte Lippert, CEO of Alfa-Omega, said the collaboration with Kolon will combine their experience with Kolon's network to provide enhanced laboratory solutions. Kolon CEO Anders Mads Jensen highlighted the opportunity to expand Kolon's presence in the laboratory sector while incorporating sustainable materials into new projects.

Kolon, founded in 1972 and run by the second-generation CEO Anders Mads Jensen, is already established in furniture for schools and businesses, focusing on solid craftsmanship and sustainability. Alfa-Omega Lab will relocate to Kolon's facilities in Lejre. Kolon employs around 40 staff, with production and administration based in Osted and a sales office in Horsens, alongside a showroom in Copenhagen.

This strategic move broadens Kolon's market reach and reinforces its commitment to innovative and sustainable design solutions across new sectors.
