antoniolupi has unveiled Rigatino, a freestanding washbasin that transforms the bathroom into a space of experience, where contemporary luxury meets architectural elegance. Crafted from white Carrara marble and designed with a wooden base, Rigatino features the Catesio system on the back, highlighting the brand's signature dialogue between material integrity and refined design.

Described by antoniolupi as "a contemporary, essential luxury—made of surfaces that tell the story of design and of timeless forms," Rigatino exemplifies the company's ethos of combining human creativity with technological evolution. The washbasin's cylindrical form rises like a tree trunk, offering a vertical, compact yet slender silhouette that culminates in an elegant, natural crowning. The result is a domestic sculpture that balances geometric purity with emotional and almost organic appeal.
The washbasin's defining feature is its surface. Parallel vertical millings, inspired by natural wood grains, create a rhythm of light and shadow along the cylinder, producing a dynamic three-dimensional texture that captures attention while remaining understated. The base is offered in solid wood for warmth and sophistication or in marble for a more sculptural presence, allowing architects and designers to adapt Rigatino to diverse interior contexts.
The basin itself expands the design's expressive potential. In addition to marble, it can be made in Flumood and Colormood, antoniolupi's matt-finish materials that emphasise form purity. The contrast between smooth basin surfaces and textured column enhances the contemporary character of the design. The column may also be paired with Simplotondo, an integrated washbasin countertop that maintains Rigatino's essential elegance while providing functional practicality.
"Rigatino is a product where matter becomes the protagonist, transforming the bathroom into a space to experience, not merely to use," stated antoniolupi, highlighting the careful balance of form, materiality, and functionality that defines the collection.
With Rigatino, antoniolupi continues to explore the relationship between material, shape, and spatial experience, demonstrating that luxury can be both understated and architecturally impactful.
