Precision does not begin on the sales floor; it begins on the production line. For AHORN, the Czech manufacturer of slatted frames, beds, mattresses and pillows, 2025 was defined by decisions made inside the factory rather than on marketing slides. Investments in technology, material control and operational discipline shaped a year focused on strengthening what professionals rely on most, products that perform consistently, at scale, and over time. That mindset now frames how AHORN steps into 2026.
David Vašulka, Head of Marketing at AHORN, reflects on a year that proved decisive for the brand's positioning. '2025 was a pivotal year in strengthening our position within the B2B market,' David explains. 'Despite overall market volatility, we maintained a steady growth trend, which validated our focus on technical quality and supply chain predictability.' Trade fair appearances at M.O.W., Hometex and Wohnen & Interieur further reinforced AHORN's role as a trusted supplier for major buying groups across the DACH region. 'These platforms allowed us to demonstrate consistency and reliability, which is increasingly valuable in today's market,' he adds.

Technology as a foundation, not a headline
Behind the scenes, investment played a critical role. AHORN introduced a new generation of CNC (computer numerical control) technologies across slatted frame and mattress production. 'This modernisation allows us to scale volumes for large retail chains while maintaining the extreme precision required by specialised studios and demanding hospitality projects,' David says. For AHORN, technology is not about spectacle. 'It is about ensuring every product performs exactly as promised, year after year,' he notes.
A standout milestone was the continued success of the Portoflex Motor Kombi slatted frame. 'Its technical design is protected as a Registered European Union Design,' David shares. 'The EUIPO's confirmation of the registration renewal underlines our long-term commitment to protecting our own innovations.' The system solves a practical challenge by combining full motorised comfort with accessible storage through a unique side opening mechanism. 'For showrooms, it is a product that immediately demonstrates added value that cannot be found elsewhere,' he adds.

Resilience tested and proven
The past year also brought unexpected challenges. A global shortage of polymers for foam production affected the entire industry, yet AHORN maintained all agreed delivery schedules. 'Thanks to our risk management system and strategic inventory planning, we delivered without interruption,' David says. 'For our partners, this was practical proof that we can provide predictable supply even during high volatility.' The experience has since strengthened internal standards. 'It pushed us to refine our procurement processes and raised the bar for operational agility,' he explains.

Priorities for 2026 and beyond
Looking ahead, AHORN's strategy rests on three pillars. 'The first is advanced digital integration,' David outlines. 'We treat EDI as a standard and our onboarding process allows new partners to integrate quickly.' Sales support forms the second pillar, with real time availability, training videos and an upcoming online advisor. 'These tools help showroom staff present technical advantages immediately and correctly,' he says. The third pillar remains material quality. 'We focus on tangible benefits for quality sleep and bodily regeneration, not just specifications on paper.'
Durability, rather than disposability, is the defining trend shaping AHORN's future. 'We see durability as the purest form of sustainability,' David states. 'Professionals increasingly recognise that the mattress and slatted frame function as a single system.' This shift creates value across retail, specialised studios and hospitality. 'The right combination extends lifespan and reduces total cost, which is a strong argument for every segment,' he adds.
As AHORN strengthens its presence in Germany and Austria through a strict B2B model, its message remains consistent. 'We do not sell directly to end consumers,' David emphasises. 'That transparency makes us a stable and fair partner.' With continued presence at Hometex and buying group exhibitions in 2026, AHORN's focus is clear. 'Our goal is to grow alongside our partners based on long term utility value,' he concludes. 'Stability, durability and trust are not trends, they are fundamentals.'
