Mary Austin, Freddie Mercury's close friend and ex, has been unable to sell his iconic Kensington home, Garden Lodge, nearly two years after listing it for €34 million. Mercury fell in love with the 1907 property in 1980 and renovated it, adding a bar, dressing room, library, and Japanese garden. The mansion is so exclusive that prospective buyers must prove financial capability.

The sale delay is reportedly a relief to Mercury's sister, Kashmira Bulsara, who has spent over €3 million purchasing family items Mary auctioned to keep them in the family.
