Buit Valencia elevates wall coverings into art with Pecas Collection

Buit Valencia, the new designer ceramic brand, is redefining wall coverings as art pieces, combining craftsmanship, tradition, and sustainability with a timeless aesthetic. The brand's mission is to express "purity, sensitivity, and naturalness," creating ceramic elements that transcend functional use and become integral components of interior design.

For the buffet restaurant at Palma de Mallorca's Aubamar Hotel, Felip Polar Studio selected Buit Valencia's Pecas collection, designed by Valencian duo CUAL Estudio, to craft a space that fuses sensory design with artisanal materiality. The collection takes its inspiration from freckles, or pecas in Spanish, featuring small, rounded spots that appear irregularly on the skin. This organic motif translates into a tile pattern that can be installed in infinite volumetric combinations, creating walls that feel touched by sunlight.

"The tiles, made from white clay in a matte NUDE glaze, measuring 25x25 cm with a thickness of 10–12 mm, are conceived as art pieces, offering architects and interior designers infinite possibilities during installation," the brand explains. The raw finish highlights the purity of the material, emphasising composition, volume, and form while eliminating artifice.

Buit Valencia's philosophy centres on recovering the nobility of ceramics, allowing each collection to serve as a timeless piece that harmonises with both art and design. The brand collaborates closely with architects and interior designers, creating floor and wall tiles that integrate seamlessly into a space as part of an artistic installation. Its innovative approach elevates ceramics into a three-dimensional, spatial medium that goes beyond conventional applications.

CUAL Estudio, the design studio behind Pecas, applies a thoughtful, conceptual approach to design. Founders Laura Carmona and Carolina Pascual emphasise rhythm, coherence, and intention, designing objects and spaces that generate connection and pause. Each project begins with meaning rather than style, resulting in authentic, recognisable, and emotionally resonant work.

Felip Polar Studio, responsible for the Aubamar Hotel project, specialises in creating functional and contemporary interiors that stand out for their unique, personalised approach. In the restaurant, light, calm, and materiality prevail, with the Pecas collection shaping an atmosphere that balances sensory experience and artisanal textures.

Buit Valencia continues to explore new dimensions in ceramic design, blending art, architecture, and craftsmanship to offer architects and interior designers innovative tools for creating expressive, timeless interiors.
