UK-based spring and comfort technology specialist Spinks has unveiled a new range of innovative pocket spring cores, marking a significant step forward in sustainable and high-performance mattress design.
The launch follows Spinks' recent success at Interzum in Cologne, where the company received several accolades, including the prestigious Best of the Best Award. The new range introduces three pocket spring innovations designed to meet the evolving needs of furniture and mattress manufacturers worldwide.
The first innovation, ECORE, is a new family of pocket spring cores engineered with recyclability and performance at its core. Available in both polypropylene and polyester nonwoven options—each paired with a matching bonding agent—the ECORE range is offered in multiple heights, coil counts, and wire gauges. Manufacturers can choose between boxed or nested constructions to increase coil density and support, with further customisation options including zoning, firm-edge reinforcement, flexible gluing, and framed or unframed designs.

Building on this platform, ECORE AIR has been developed to enhance airflow and temperature regulation. Using a perforated polypropylene nonwoven, the pocket core promotes improved ventilation throughout the mattress, delivering a cooler and more breathable sleep experience while maintaining a climate-conscious design.
The third innovation, INDECORE, represents the first commercial rollout of Spinks' patented elasticated-sheet pocket spring technology. Unlike traditional pocket cores that rely on top and bottom sheets for stability, INDECORE features a fully elasticated top sheet, allowing each coil to move independently. This results in improved responsiveness, enhanced body conformity, and a more authentic pocketed-coil feel.

These developments follow the recent introduction of four additional spring innovations by Spinks, including Quadrolution—an evolution of its glue-free QuadCore technology. Quadrolution is a 100% recyclable spring system made from just two raw materials, offering extensive customisation and delivering body-responsive comfort. The technology was recently recognised with a High Product Quality award at Interzum.
Commenting on the launch, Darren Marcangelo, Chief Commercial Officer at Spinks, said:
"This has been a landmark period for us, from achieving our 100th patent and winning multiple industry awards, to now introducing even more ground-breaking products to the market. As world leaders in pocket spring innovation, we combine engineering expertise with sustainability and comfort technology to set new standards for the industry. These latest developments offer recyclable designs, improved airflow and temperature regulation, and enhanced coil responsiveness, providing manufacturers with high-performance solutions to differentiate their products globally."
The new pocket spring range further strengthens Spinks' portfolio of more than 100 patented innovations, many of which are used by leading mattress brands around the world.
