Joy Objects crafts a bold visual identity for new design platform Echo

In February 2026, Echo will launch as a new exhibition platform dedicated to connecting design brands and designers with journalists, architects and a design-interested public. Conceived as a physical meeting place for the design industry, Echo aims to foster networking, inspiration and new business opportunities within the European design scene.

The premiere edition of Echo will take place in Stockholm from 3–6 February 2026, followed by an international edition in Copenhagen from 10–12 June 2026. Positioned as a fresh platform for presenting design news and ideas, ECHO places strong emphasis on dialogue, accessibility and cross-disciplinary exchange.

The visual identity of Echo has been developed by the design studio Joy Objects, founded by Swedish designer Fredrik Paulsen. Joy Objects, which will also participate as an exhibitor at the exhibition, is recognised for a playful yet minimalistic approach, where form, humour and function are seamlessly integrated. The Echo logo reflects the studio's interpretation of the platform's name and concept, described as a visual echo in which references from the past intersect with contemporary design language.

Explaining the creative process behind the logo, Fredrik Paulsen, founder of JOY Objects, says: "Driven by our love for subcultures and a deep connection to 90's aesthetics, the logo works as a paraphrase, or an echo of one of our favourite 90's rappers: Ice Cube. Known for his strong relationship with design, he felt like a natural reference, one that became even more fitting given the icy temperatures in Stockholm during Stockholm design days."

ECHO's exhibitor line-up brings together established brands and independent studios from across the design spectrum. Confirmed exhibitors include ASKO, Bang & Olufsen, Bemz, By Rydéns, DUX, Kähler, Mia Cullin, Anki Gneib, Ogeborg, Solid Space Studio and Staffan Holm Studio. Additional exhibitors will be announced on Instagram @echo.exhibition and via the official website, echoexhibition.se.

The exhibition will be open to visitors Tuesday to Thursday from 10:00 to 18:00, and Friday from 10:00 to 16:00, at Slupskjulsvägen 20–22 on Skeppsholmen in Stockholm.

Originally intended as a complement to the Stockholm Furniture Fair, ECHO was developed to strengthen Stockholm's position as a design destination and Sweden's role as a leading design country. This ambition remains unchanged following the announcement that Stockholm Furniture Fair has been postponed until 2027.
