A prominent carpet retailer in the UK, suffered a significant fire at its warehouse and storage facility in Birmingham on the evening of 7 January 2026. The blaze broke out at 19:13 at the company's two-storey brick-built factory unit on the Tyseley Industrial Estate. Measuring approximately 100 meters by 40 meters, the building was fully engulfed, prompting a large-scale emergency response.

The company in question is Sam Carpet Ltd. West Midlands Fire Service deployed 14 fire engines, three hydraulic platforms, specialist units, and more than 75 personnel to contain the fire. Firefighters employed advanced equipment including aerial drones and breathing apparatus to control the blaze. As of 8 January, eight fire engines and two hydraulic platforms remained on site while crews worked to fully extinguish the fire, with access to some areas restricted due to severe damage. A comprehensive handover between night and day crews was carried out to maintain firefighting efforts.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and investigations are ongoing. The incident represents a substantial loss for Sam Carpet Ltd, affecting its warehouse, storage, and operations in Birmingham.
