The acquisition of Gainline Recline Intermediate significantly increases Man Wah's US production capacity and enables faster response to market trends, supply chain fluctuations, and tariff uncertainties under US policies. The company highlighted potential synergies including cost savings on raw materials, improved production efficiency, and cross-selling through Gainline Recline's network of over 1,000 retailers.
Zoe Wong, Managing Director of Man Wah, said Southern Motion's capabilities "perfectly complement Man Wah's global reach and technical expertise," allowing the company to offer end-to-end solutions including offshore and domestic production, fast-turn programs, and bespoke upholstered furniture.
Man Wah President Gabriele Natale emphasised the strategic alignment of the acquisition, noting it strengthens the company's operational model to withstand economic cycles while supporting sustainable growth for retail partners. The deal positions Man Wah as a one-stop partner for movable and stationary seating, combining domestic craftsmanship with global sourcing, product development, and logistics infrastructure.
