Premier Forest Products has acquired an engineered timber specialist strengthening its timber engineering capabilities across the UK.

National Timber Systems (NTS), formerly part of National Timber Group England, entered administration in November 2025. The acquisition secures continuity for NTS' operations, customers, and manufacturing footprint, safeguarding 160 jobs with plans to grow to 250.
NTS supplies engineered timber products and services to national and regional housebuilders, as well as the construction and modular sectors. Terry Edgell, CEO of Premier Forest, said the acquisition aligns with the company's Mon Timber Engineering operations in South Wales and the South West, broadening engineered timber solutions nationwide. He added it will support faster, more efficient housebuilding and modular construction through product innovation and potential expansion of manufacturing capacity.
The transaction includes NTS operations in Bristol, Catterick, Newcastle, and the assets of the Sheffield site, with a goal of returning to full production capacity to meet demand. Nick Kershaw, MD of NTS, welcomed the acquisition, emphasising the cultural fit and opportunities for growth.
Premier Forest, headquartered in Newport, Wales, is one of the UK's leading independent timber distribution and manufacturing groups, following recent acquisitions of Arnold Laver sites in Manchester, Reading, and Hull.
