As MEBEL STIL prepares for its ninth consecutive participation at imm Cologne in 2026, the Bulgarian upholstered furniture manufacturer reflects on the fair's strategic role and its own evolving presence. For Chavdar Targohov, Export Manager, imm Cologne remains much more than a trade show, it is a vital hub for connecting markets and driving future growth.

Strategic gathering point
'imm Cologne is the exact place where we met for the first time our customers and agents from all our major markets,' Chavdar explains. 'We keep seeing new faces every time and use this fair as a strategic meeting point where we connect with partners from Europe, Africa, South America and beyond.'
While visiting clients directly remains important, Chavdar emphasises the practical value of gathering everyone in one place annually. 'It is much easier to meet partners once a year here,' he says. 'imm will continue to bring the industry together, especially in the markets where we want to develop and grow.'

Innovation in the spotlight
Visitors to MEBEL STIL's stand at imm Cologne 2026 can expect a showcase of new models and innovations. 'We will present sofas featuring Puma mechanisms, which are extremely convenient but still not well known in many countries,' Chavdar shares. 'In addition, we will introduce a new series of sofa beds with triple unfolding mechanisms.'
The company's expansion into chair production will also be highlighted. 'We recently started producing chairs and will proudly present our first prototypes,' he adds. 'Visitors are welcome to visit us in Hall 10.2, booth E-021, and feel free to say "hi". By the way, we have a bar too, so if you read this, you qualify for a drink.'

Flying high with ambition
Looking ahead, MEBEL STIL's ambitions are bold. 'We aim for our first participation at the Shanghai Fair in September 2026 because the sky is the limit, isn't it?' Chavdar says. 'We also plan to establish production abroad to shorten delivery times for European customers.'
Growth is driven not just by commercial success but by a shared passion. 'In Bulgaria, we say that the "appetite comes with the eating",' he reflects. 'Our management team is eager to achieve more, not solely driven by success or money, but by the belief that we are building a legacy of hard work filled with emotions. And that always pays off. Emotions are part of our daily life. Just like our furniture.'
