The Opti-Wohnwelt Group will exit its self-administration proceedings on 31 December 2025, following a restructuring process that began in September 2024. Managing Director Michael Föst, who has led the company for decades, will step down, leaving Oliver Föst as the sole Managing Director, supported by two authorised signatories, Michael Meier and Christine Föst. The new leadership structure aims to streamline decision-making and improve operational efficiency.

During the restructuring, the company negotiated with landlords to reduce store costs, optimised its warehouse network, and implemented AI and additional software systems to enhance efficiency and customer experience. Expanded procurement channels have improved product availability, and the launch of private labels "Ole Peterson" and "Opti Living" has increased product variety. Consultation centres have also been established to strengthen customer service.
Oliver Föst described the completion of the process as 'like an early Christmas present,' noting that collaboration with restructuring experts, banks, business partners, and employees allowed the company to reorganise while maintaining operations and securing a solid financial footing.
Opti-Wohnwelt operates 27 branches nationwide and employs around 900 people, positioning itself for long-term stability and growth in the competitive furniture market.
