Salvagnini America expands Hamilton HQ with new high-paying jobs

Salvagnini America, the U.S. subsidiary of Italian manufacturing giant Salvagnini Group, has launched a $6 million expansion of its Hamilton, Ohio headquarters. The project, targeting the original 40,000-square-foot "West Wing," will refurbish the building, enhance departmental layouts, and may include a new second story.

The expansion is expected to create at least 28 new positions, averaging $100,000 in annual salary, with total payroll of $2.8 million. Ohio approved a seven-year, 1.338% Job Creation Tax Credit valued at up to $230,000, while JobsOhio and REDI Cincinnati will provide additional incentives.

Salvagnini manufactures automated machines for bending, punching, and cutting sheet metal for industries including HVAC, office furniture, agriculture, and data centres. The Hamilton facility, established in 1988, produces spare tooling and oversees sales and service operations across the Americas. The division employs around 160 staff in Hamilton, with 50 more in Canada and Mexico, and currently serves over 450 customers with more than 1,500 machines installed.

CEO Andrea Scarpari highlighted that growing demand for automation has expanded the company's U.S. operations, necessitating additional space and staff. The expansion also includes reorganising the sales department into eastern and western regions with two new regional director roles.
