Curated, personal and powered by a strong community, this is how TRENDS UP WEST has, in recent years, established itself as a distinctive event in western Germany. Exhibitors and visitors value its exceptional sense of togetherness and its role as a platform that consistently delivers fresh impulses beyond traditional trade fairs. The next step is to elevate TRENDS UP WEST with a renewed organisational set-up.
The three founders, Willo Blome (Blomus), Florian Burghard (Sompex) and Marco Hübecker (Fleur Ami), have appointed PeopleMe GmbH of Hamburg as the new organiser. This structural development does not represent a change of direction, but rather a logical progression aimed at strengthening and further professionalising the existing organisation. PeopleMe GmbH is led by seasoned event specialists Christoph Rénevier and Kai Klemm, who bring extensive experience in designing and delivering a broad range of event formats from their time at Fleet Events GmbH.

Operational responsibility for TRENDS UP WEST will lie with Kai Klemm, working closely with project manager Christian Kasch, who has successfully advanced the event over the past two years with great energy and commitment. Together with their team, they aim to enhance the organisational, strategic and especially communicative impact of TRENDS UP WEST. These developments are expected to be noticeable as early as the 2026 edition. The outlook is promising: almost 200 companies have already registered for the Interior and Lifestyle Show taking place from 27 to 29 June, including leading brands such as AM-Design, Sigikid, Wenko-Wenselaar, Brand Master, Laux, Engels Kerzen, FH Lighting and the Neumann agency with brands such as Donkey Products, Novoform and Kiss my Kitchen.
"I have rarely experienced such a committed community within an event, a group that genuinely wants to make things happen together. The task now is to increase visibility in the short term and further cultivate the community spirit as a long-term driver of ideas," says Kai Klemm. Christian Kasch adds: "It is absolutely the right step to distribute responsibilities across a wider base in order to unlock the full potential of this format."
The content direction will remain in the hands of the experienced trio of founders. As hosts, they remain true to their original vision: TRENDS UP WEST is and will continue to be, a platform created by the industry for the industry. This ethos forms the foundation for a strong community of exhibitors, retailers and partners, united by the goal of continuously inspiring and revitalising the retail landscape with a wide-ranging product portfolio, showcased within the striking architecture of the Areal Böhler in Düsseldorf.
"We are pleased to have found a set-up that allows TRENDS UP WEST to take its next step towards maturity. We will work together to develop the platform further so that it resonates even more strongly within the industry," says Willo Blome on behalf of the founding trio.
The seven previous editions have demonstrated not only how appreciated TRENDS UP WEST is, but how essential it has become. The newly structured team will focus on refining the event's organisational foundations, enhancing its targeted communication and expanding services on the organiser side. In doing so, the growing TRENDS UP WEST community will benefit from a professional framework that preserves the event's established character while positioning it firmly for the future.
