The furniture retail sector in Spain continues to grow as Schmidt expands its national footprint with new store openings. The multinational brand, which specialises in made-to-measure kitchens, bathrooms, dressing rooms and home furniture, has confirmed further expansion across the country in response to rising demand for design-led yet affordable interiors.

In November, Schmidt opened two new stores: one in Santander, marking its return to the city after a six-year absence, and another in Mataró near Barcelona. The Mataró location, spanning 200 square metres, represents the brand's eighth store in the province of Barcelona. These openings bring Schmidt's total new stores in 2025 to four.
Earlier this year, the company entered Menorca with a new store in Mahón, expanded further in the Balearic Islands, opened a second location in the Canary Islands in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and relocated its Vitoria store. Combined with seven openings in 2024, Schmidt now operates 87 stores in Spain.
The brand exclusively sells furniture produced by France-based Schmidt Groupe, which operates seven manufacturing sites across Europe and Asia. In 2024, the group reported revenues of €602m and employs around 1,900 people globally.
