Purchased goods and services account for the largest share of JYSK's greenhouse gas emissions. To tackle this, the company has implemented a supplier engagement programme validated by SBTi, targeting 72.5% of suppliers by FY28 to have science-based climate targets in place. Already, 44% of suppliers have submitted or received approval for SBTi-validated targets.
Ditte Revsbæk Hansen, Sustainability Director at JYSK, said:
"We are very pleased with the progress. Like JYSK, our suppliers are committed to reducing the climate footprint by setting science-based targets. Therefore, customers can continue to find great offers at JYSK, knowing that we are working together with our suppliers to increase the focus on emissions calculations in our value chain."
JYSK actively monitors supplier progress and supports capacity-building through workshops, tailored guidance, and collaboration with external consultants to ensure suppliers can move from initial steps to full SBTi approval. A small number of suppliers are still evaluating the framework, and future collaboration opportunities are being explored.
The company is also targeting a 50.4% reduction in its scope 1 and 2 emissions by FY32. In FY25, JYSK reduced overall scope 1 and 2 emissions by 1.2% compared to FY22, even while opening over 300 new stores, with a 9% reduction in emissions per store.

Hansen added:
"As a large international company, we are in contact with thousands of customers, employees and suppliers every day, and we want to do our part to reduce our climate impact. We recognise that it won't be easy, but with the current momentum, we see good progress in decoupling our business growth from the emissions in our own operations."
With more than 3,600 stores and webshops across 50 countries, JYSK continues to integrate sustainability into its operations, balancing business growth with climate responsibility.
