Organised by the German Design Council, the German Design Awards are regarded as a global benchmark for design excellence, celebrating products that demonstrate forward-thinking design, sustainability, and lasting relevance within their sector.
Designed as a sculptural centrepiece for contemporary bathrooms, Infinity-Bio is defined by soft, fluid curves inspired by the symbol of infinity. The bathtub is conceived as a space for shared well-being, featuring two integrated backrests and armrests that allow two users to bathe comfortably in a stable, ergonomic position. Its balanced proportions and flowing geometry contribute to a calm, immersive bathing experience, positioning the product firmly within the premium wellness segment.
A key aspect of the project is its material innovation. Infinity-Bio is made from Cristalplant®, a sustainable solid surface composed of high-purity aluminium trihydrate and plant-based bio-resins. The material offers a matte, velvety finish with antimicrobial properties, reinforcing Hideo's commitment to hygiene, durability, and environmentally conscious design. Extensive ergonomic research underpins the product's form, ensuring both comfort and longevity.
The jury praised the project for its emotional and functional qualities, stating:
"The harmoniously flowing contours lend the bathtub a distinctive emotional depth, creating a retreat defined by charismatic elegance. The combination of sustainable material, precise ergonomics and subtle functionality for shared bathing results in a strikingly timeless design."
With IN-2000-E / Infinity-Bio, Hideo continues to strengthen its position within the high-end bathroom and interiors market, demonstrating how sustainable materials and technological precision can be translated into products designed to endure both aesthetically and functionally.
