Ikea has announced major changes to its Copenhagen city store at Kalvebod Brygge, two years after its 2023 opening. Originally designed as a showroom for city dwellers to view products before ordering, the store will now stock 2,500 additional items, doubling its range and allowing customers to take larger furniture home the same day.

Store manager Tiago Jesus explained that the change responds to customer demand for immediate availability, particularly for cabinets, dining tables, and other large items. The store continues to cater to diverse shopping habits, supporting both in-person inspiration and digital ordering via Click & Collect, as well as delivery by cargo bike, public transport, or car.
The store retains 500 bicycle parking spaces and 80 paid car parking spots, with facilities for borrowing cargo bikes. The move reflects Ikea's effort to combine convenience, physical showroom experience, and digital services for urban customers.
Located at Dybbølsbro in Vesterbro, the store aims to provide a fully flexible shopping experience, adapting to the modern needs of Copenhageners.
