Riva1920 has introduced A-Book, a solid-wood bookcase designed by Fabio Di Bartolomei that distils functionality and architectural purity into a single sculptural furniture piece. Defined by essential geometry and precise detailing, the new design aims to bring order, rhythm and visual harmony to a variety of interior settings, from residential rooms to open-plan professional environments.

Conceived as an exercise in balance between materiality and utility, A-Book features horizontal shelves supported by a distinctive A-shaped vertical structure. The composition can be positioned against a wall or used as an elegant room divider, offering both solidity and an impression of visual lightness. Crafted in solid wood, a hallmark of the Italian brand—the bookcase embodies Riva1920's tradition of natural materials and refined joinery.
The company describes the piece as one in which "functionality, architecture, and material meet", noting that its essential form "is designed to enhance books, objects, and memories through a perfect balance between aesthetics and functionality".
A-Book has already gained international recognition, winning the Archiproducts Design Award 2025 in the Furniture category. Celebrated during the annual ADA ceremony in Milan, the award acknowledges the bookcase's "essential geometry and structural lightness", characteristics that the jury deemed an exemplary expression of the dialogue between natural craftsmanship and industrial precision.
A video released by the brand features designer Fabio Di Bartolomei outlining the conceptual development behind the bookcase, offering insight into the disciplined design approach that guided its creation.
Alongside the launch, Riva1920 highlights further collaborations with Di Bartolomei, including the Theory chair, reinforcing the ongoing partnership between the designer and the company's pursuit of contemporary yet enduring furniture.
With its architectural clarity, meticulous execution and award-winning design language, A-Book underscores Riva1920's continued commitment to essential forms and the expressive potential of solid wood.
