Le Bain du Collectionneur by Edgar Jayet at Design Miami/Paris 2025

Paragone presents Le Bain du Collectionneur, a furniture collection designed by Edgar Jayet, with the support of Maison Lelièvre, at Design Miami/Paris 2025.

Since its inception, Paragone has championed talents who are reshaping interior architecture and contemporary design. Architects, designers, and self-taught creators alike bring distinct perspectives, materials, and design languages. Paragone amplifies these voices, embedding them within narratives and offering contexts for dialogue, emergence, and presence. Through exhibitions, collaborations, and scenographic projects, the agency fosters a curatorial approach that engages with contemporary cultural, aesthetic, and symbolic challenges.

Le Bain du Collectionneur is presented within a scenography freely inspired by the Pavillon du Collectionneur designed by Jacques-Émile Ruhlmann for the 1925 Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes in Paris. The project, supported by the historic French upholstery and textile house Maison Lelièvre, reimagines the private world of the contemporary collector, merging imagined journeys, artisanal craftsmanship, and a memory of French stylistic heritage.

A total work of art
Rooted in the tradition of interiors as a complete artistic expression, every piece of the collection, furniture, lighting, and objects, forms part of a unified design language. Jayet's work echoes the 1925 pavilion, exploring a rare and intimate domain between bathroom and boudoir, serving as both ceremonial space and sanctuary for care, reflection, and withdrawal.

Crafted with rare woods, nickel-plated fittings, trunks, and vanities, the collection honours the ritual aesthetics of travel and French fine craftsmanship. It was produced in collaboration with leading French workshops: Les Ateliers de la Chapelle (cabinetmaking), Jouffre (upholstery), Atelier Yszé (bronze), Ateliers Fey (leatherwork), and Maison Fontaine (handles originally designed by Ruhlmann). Maison Delisle also contributed by presenting the La Bouillotte lighting collection, designed by Edgar Jayet.
