Under the theme "Reimagine Sustainability. Shape the Future," osapiens brought together more than 200 professionals, industry leaders, and changemakers at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven for Impact Day 2025, last month. The event highlighted that leading companies increasingly view sustainability not merely as a matter of compliance, but as an opportunity to create value through collaboration, transparency and operational efficiency.
EUDR: Opportunities for frontrunners
Despite the ongoing discussion about postponing the European Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) to December 2026, the need to achieve full supply chain transparency remains urgent. Impact Day made clear that companies already looking beyond compliance are the ones gaining a competitive edge today.
"The future of sustainability is compliance-independent. It's no longer just about meeting regulations such as the EUDR or CSRD, but about embedding sustainability into strategy, culture, and day-to-day operations," said Stijn Scheepers, Country Director, osapiens Benelux.
From compliance to strategy: The future of ESG reporting
More than 20 speakers from various industries shared their insights through keynotes, panel discussions, and deep-dive sessions. Central topics included CSRD, EUDR, product compliance, and the future of ESG reporting.
Key partners contributing to the program included Philips, BLMC, Cattwyk, delaware, GS1, Intrakoop, MVO Nederland, KPMG Belgium, and SGS.
A recurring theme across all sessions was the shift towards a new standard for future-proof business. One built on an integrated sustainability strategy with clear targets and continuous monitoring.
André Kuipers: A view from space underscores the urgency for action
Astronaut and sustainability ambassador André Kuipers shared striking imagery that revealed the fragility of our planet, the thinness of the atmosphere and the pace at which forests are disappearing due to human activity. His perspective brought the urgency for action into sharp focus and set the tone for a day filled with concrete solutions.

Philips: From audits to partnership
Marco Baren, Head of Supplier Sustainability & Regulatory at Philips, demonstrated how the company embeds sustainability at the core of its supply chain. Through its Sustainable Performance Program, Philips prioritizes partnership over control, supporting suppliers in improving their performance sustainably through data and collaboration.
MVO Nederland: "The sustainability hype is over"
According to MVO Nederland, the sustainability hype has passed. The focus has shifted from ambitious net-zero goals to concrete compliance challenges. Sustainability managers focus on ESRS data points and extensive reporting. Companies that embed sustainability strategically into their operations are demonstrably more successful, and their CEOs are up to 40% more optimistic about the future.
osapiens: Technology as a catalyst for transparency
osapiens emphasized how technology can help organizations gain insight into complex supply chains. The osapiens HUB provides an integrated platform for compliance, transparency, and sustainable growth – from ESG reporting to due diligence and EUDR compliance.
"With the right technology, organizations can not only meet regulatory requirements but turn sustainability into strategic value," said Alberto Zamora, Founder and CEO of osapiens.
