Salone del Mobile.Milano has embarked on a new international chapter with a three-year partnership with Art Basel Miami Beach and Art Basel Hong Kong, bringing Italian design to the heart of the global art and collecting ecosystem. For the first time, Italian design will shape the Collectors Lounges at these leading contemporary art fairs, engaging VIP collectors, curators, gallerists, and prominent cultural investors.

The inaugural Collectors Lounge at Art Basel Miami Beach, unveiled on 3 December during the VIP preview, was designed by Lissoni & Partners and curated in collaboration with a selection of iconic Made in Italy companies, including Arper, Artemide, Calligaris, Edra, Molteni&C, Poltrona Frau, Porada, Porro, and Visionnaire, among others. The space blends aesthetic quality, comfort, and Italian cultural identity, offering an exclusive environment for networking and dialogue between design and art.
Maria Porro, President of Salone del Mobile.Milano, commented:
"Our inaugural presence at Art Basel Miami Beach 2025 represents a natural and strategic evolution of the international trajectory that the Salone is tracing to expand opportunities for relations between Italian design and new global audiences with a high cultural involvement. Our role, today more than ever, is to anticipate the changes shaping the international market and to create the conditions for Italian companies to engage with new worlds, where art, design and cultural investments all come together."
The initiative highlights the United States as a strategic market for Made in Italy, with exports of Italian wood-furniture products exceeding €2.1 billion in 2024. Miami, as a cultural and high-end real estate hub, represents a critical platform to reinforce Italian design's visibility and influence, offering access to a highly knowledgeable and internationally connected audience.
Marco Verna, Director of ITA – Italian Trade Agency Miami, emphasised the collaboration:
"Art, design and furniture are three different expressions of the same vision: giving a form to beauty. And when the subject is beauty, you have to talk about Made in Italy."
This partnership continues the Salone's international journey, following presentations at Expo 2025 Osaka, London, and Shanghai. The multi-year presence at Art Basel Miami Beach and Hong Kong not only consolidates Italian design in global cultural circuits but also anticipates themes, content, and innovation for the Salone del Mobile.Milano's 2026 edition, scheduled from 21 to 26 April.
The project underscores the Salone's commitment to positioning Italian design as a strategic driver of cultural and economic growth while fostering meaningful dialogue with global audiences at the intersection of art, design, and investment.
