Leanne Upson, OS chief marketing officer, described the project as "an important step in making our trusted location data more accessible and intuitive," emphasising its goal to deliver "real value" to organisations through an engaging online experience. The redesign will focus on enhancing product discovery, streamlining user journeys, and clarifying how OS supports sectors including government, finance, telecoms, and utilities.
Julia Carefoot, Hotfoot Design's creative and UX lead, said the agency is "incredibly proud" to work on the project, aiming to make the scale and impact of OS data "instantly clear and accessible" while reinforcing OS as a leading authority in location insight.
Ordnance Survey, which has mapped Great Britain since 1791, maintains the National Geographic Database, updated over 30,000 times daily with more than 600 million geographic features. Its data underpins critical operations from emergency response to infrastructure planning, making the success of this UX project highly significant for users nationwide.
