Koncept is proud to spotlight the transformative lighting design behind the newly reimagined Cochera and Bodega rooms at Bocado Tapas Wine Bar in Worcester, Massachusetts. The project represents a collaborative effort led by designer Lisa Albano-Selzo, owner of Decorum Lighting & Design, whose intuitive approach and more than 30 years of expertise helped bring the restaurant's bold artistic identity to life.

Developed in partnership with Mike Covino, President of Niche Hospitality, the redesign reflects an urban interpretation of Spanish dining, an environment where movement, texture, and expressive art merge seamlessly with hospitality. With sculptural forms, graffiti-infused walls, and handcrafted architectural moments defining the space, the lighting was required to function not only as illumination but as an integral layer of the visual composition.
To meet this challenge, Albano-Selzo employed a curated selection of Koncept's most versatile lighting solutions. In the back dining areas, 36-inch Z-Bar Pendant bars were arranged in square and rectangular installations, bringing order, balance, and subtle sculptural presence to the richly detailed ceilings. Koncept Acoustic Panels, placed both near the restaurant's entrance and along the back wall, added depth, acoustic comfort, and a welcoming visual rhythm.
Along the walls, the Ramen Wall Sconce provided diffused ambience while integrating directly into the artwork. Its paintable faceplates enabled several fixtures to be intentionally covered by graffiti, allowing them to disappear into the murals while still casting a warm glow that supports the dining atmosphere.

Sales representatives Kirk Martin and Chris of Zaya & Martin Group guided the specification and selection process from the outset, ensuring seamless integration of Koncept's systems throughout the project. Photographer Troy Pontbriand captured the finished environment, highlighting the dynamic interplay between art, architecture, and light.
"My experience with the latest Bocado addition of the Cochera & Bodega rooms was an amazing experience," said Albano-Selzo. "It is a fine dining restaurant in a thoroughly modern and urban setting, balanced beautifully by the food, staff, and the environment itself."
Koncept's Z-Bar Pendant, Acoustic Panels, and Ramen Wall Sconce exemplify the brand's commitment to flexible, expressive, and technically adaptive design tools. Highly customisable, modular, and customisable via the Z-Bar Pendant Online Configurator, these systems empower designers to shape environments with precision and imagination.
