New Life wins German Design Award 2026

New Life has been named a winner of the German Design Award 2026 for its L'Ala Outdoor lounge chair, designed by Marco Zito. The award recognises the standout qualities of the L'Ala Outdoor collection, which includes chairs, lounge chairs, tables and a stool, all crafted from Italian aluminium. As a partially recycled and fully recyclable material, the aluminium offers what the company describes as a "permanent material", aligning directly with New Life's circular design principles and long-term sustainability ambitions.

According to the announcement, "The lounge chair L'Ala Outdoor, designed by Marco Zito for New Life, is part of the winning products of the German Design Award 2026, one of the most prestigious international awards in the design sector." New Life adds that the accolade "celebrates New Life's commitment to creating products that combine sustainability, design excellence and quality materials, confirming its position as a reference point in contemporary outdoor furniture."

Founded in 2009 in San Giovanni al Natisone (Udine, Italy) by Ondina and Alessio Battisacco together with Andrea Costantini, New Life emerged from two artisan businesses active since the 1970s. Situated in Italy's historic Chair District, the company develops seating, upholstered furniture, tables and accessories for the contract market, merging craftsmanship with advanced industrial technologies. Today, New Life collaborates widely with architects and interior designers across hospitality, catering, bar, naval, office and conference environments, while also offering tailored solutions that balance function with refined aesthetics.

In 2025, New Life became a Benefit Corporation, strengthening its commitment to environmental, social and governance responsibility. The company states that every product is conceived to "stand the test of time", reflecting the elegance, quality and contemporary sensibility associated with Made in Italy design.
