Montu Soni dives into service-first thinking, new trends, and a flexible trade model

The secret to Jaipur Furniture’s strategy in UK market

Ahead of the industry's annual gathering of the January Furniture Show 2026, Montu Soni, Director of Jaipur Furniture, makes it clear that it is much more than immediate sales. 'It's not just about business,' he says, 'it's about being present. This is when we meet our existing customers and show them what we truly stand for.' For Jaipur, the event is an opportunity to strengthen long-term relationships rather than chase new clients. 'We believe in servicing our existing customers properly before chasing new ones. If you don't give excellent service to your current clients, you won't last in this market.'

The connection to their Indian roots is also a key part of their story. Soni paints a vivid picture of the company's origins, 'The factory is in Jaipur, one of the hottest places on earth. In summer, the temperature hits 50 degrees Celsius. It's tough, but the people who work there care deeply about what they make.' This personal dedication underpins the quality that Jaipur Upholstery brings to the UK market, presenting 'solid wood furniture that comes from the factory and the family.'

Unveiling innovation and sustainability
At this year's show, Jaipur Furniture will unveil three brand-new collections, each embodying a distinct style and purpose. Soni describes the Torso Collection as a true statement piece. 'It combines solid wood with marble accents in a way that immediately draws the eye. The craftsmanship is meticulous, with a modern yet timeless feel that makes people say, "I want that for my home." It's designed to be both elegant and functional, perfect for a statement living room or dining area.'

The Lavish Pink Collection introduces a bold new colour trend that Soni believes will quickly gain traction in 2026. 'Pink might sound unusual now, but it's going to be everywhere next year. This collection blends that soft, sophisticated hue with sleek finishes and contemporary shapes. It's designed to appeal to those looking for a fresh, stylish edge in their interiors.'

Lastly, their Organic Shapes range embraces fluid, natural forms that contrast with traditional straight lines. 'These pieces are inspired by nature; curves, waves, and asymmetry,' explains Soni. 'They're perfect for clients who want furniture that feels alive and unique. It's about creating a softer, more tactile experience with the materials, inviting people to interact with their space differently.' This range also emphasises sustainable production techniques, aligning with Jaipur's commitment to environmental responsibility.

The Jaipur promise
Visitors to Jaipur's stand at the show will find more than just furniture. They will encounter a unique blend of heritage, quality, and innovation. 'You will feel that this is a direct factory warehouse,' says Soni. 'Our products are different from what's usually on the market.' The company is also introducing a shared container service for wholesalers, allowing smaller orders with flexible quantities. 'It's a new way to trade that benefits everyon. Our customers get the right price and can order what they need without risk.'

Soni's enthusiasm extends to a playful highlight, the 'monkey tail' cabinet designed especially for children. 'It's hand-carved with a monkey and a long tail, a funny piece that parents really love.'

When asked what lasting impression visitors should take away, Soni is clear: 'You have to be on our stand to feel it. Everything we show is unique, quality Indian furniture. People want this in their homes. We're not just selling products, we're building relationships.' He concludes, 'We're pioneers with our shared container and tailor-made designs. Our goal is to support our clients with the best service possible. When you choose Jaipur, you get more than furniture; you get trust, quality, and a connection.'
