High-growth Danish furniture company invests nearly DKK 100 Million in major expansion

One of North Funen's fastest-growing companies, has launched a major expansion with the construction of a new 16,000 m² logistics and warehouse facility in Søndersø. The investment, including the purchase of a 95,000 m² plot, totals close to DKK 100 million and marks the company's biggest strategic move to date.

Founded only eight years ago by entrepreneur Henrik Jørgensen, House Nordic has grown into a global furniture supplier with 100 employees and exports to 50 countries. The company's operations, currently spread across several locations in Søndersø, Odense and Vissenbjerg, will now be consolidated at the new site, a shift expected to create efficiencies and support future growth.

"We expect major logistical advantages from centralising our storage facilities, and we will reduce rental costs as we phase out our other locations," says Jørgensen. "This is not just another construction project, it's a strategic investment in our long-term development and in the future of North Funen."

Room for expansion
The new facility will feature 10-meter-high storage space, pallet racks in four levels and 14 loading bays for trucks. Completion is scheduled for October next year.

The project is the first phase of a broader development plan. With continued strong growth in 2025, Jørgensen anticipates building a second warehouse of similar size within a few years. The company's administration and showroom are also expected to relocate to the new address.

Strong financial performance
House Nordic grew its revenue by 35% in 2024, reaching what Jørgensen describes as "a solid three-digit million turnover." Profit before tax was just over DKK 14 million, though results were impacted by sharply rising freight costs from Asia.

For 2025, both revenue and profit are currently tracking 20% above last year, with expectations of further improvement in 2026 as the company increases its presence at domestic and international trade fairs.

Strategic partnerships
To handle the property development, Jørgensen established Nordhub Ejendomme ApS, owning 45% of the company. Investors Torben Villadsen and Brian Slot hold 45% and 10% respectively. The construction is led by North Jutland-based contractor IBG A/S.

"We are strong in furniture sales, but real estate development is a different discipline. Partnering with experienced professionals has been essential for bringing this project to life," says Jørgensen.

Scandinavian design, global reach
House Nordic imports Scandinavian-style furniture produced in Asia and distributes it to retailers in Denmark and 50 other markets. According to Jørgensen, the company's success rests on delivering high-value products without premium branding costs.

Even with the company's biggest investment underway, Jørgensen remains confident:

"I'm completely at ease. This is the right move for our business and for the region."
