Salone del Mobile.Milano has officially inaugurated "Red in progress. Salone del Mobile.Milano meets Riyadh", an important new chapter that brings Italian design into the Arab world for the first time through a major cultural and commercial showcase. The debut event, held in Riyadh, signals a strengthened relationship between Italy and Saudi Arabia and highlights the growing role of the Saudi capital within the global design landscape.

Taking place over three days in the heart of the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD), a symbol of the country's rapid development and architectural ambition, the initiative brings together more than 200 products from 38 leading Italian companies, over 350 high-level B2B meetings, and 13 cultural events featuring 30 international figures from architecture and design.
Developed in collaboration with both Saudi Arabian and Italian institutions, the project forms part of the activities led by the Architecture & Design Commission, chaired by HH Prince Nawaf Bin Ayyaf, which plays a strategic role in shaping the nation's cultural and design evolution.
"Red in progress" provides a platform for dialogue between industries, cultures, and design philosophies, strengthening ties between two countries undergoing dynamic transformation in their design and manufacturing sectors. The initiative also serves as a major entry point for Italian craftsmanship and contemporary design expertise into the rapidly expanding Middle Eastern market.
