K+W Polstermöbel GmbH + Co. KG has announced plans to close its Mitwitz site at the end of February 2026, citing "structural challenges in the current market landscape." The Himolla Group will assume responsibility for ongoing orders and customer relationships, ensuring continuity and maintaining service quality.

Ralph Grabow, K+W's sales director, described the decision as "extremely difficult, but necessary" due to the site's ongoing negative economic performance. The company plans to engage immediately with affected employees and the works council to negotiate socially responsible solutions and explore alternative positions within the group.
K+W emphasised its commitment to minimising disruption for both customers and staff. By integrating operations into Himolla's structures, the firm aims to maintain business continuity while upholding existing quality and reliability standards.
The closure reflects broader pressures in the upholstered furniture sector, where market shifts and economic challenges are prompting restructuring among manufacturers. K+W's Mitwitz site will cease operations in February 2026, with the transition to Himolla designed to safeguard both client obligations and long-term brand reputation.
