Stressless® Adam, made by the Norwegian furniture manufacturer Ekornes, has won the prestigious Red Dot Award: Product Design 2025. The Red Dot is one of the world's most renowned design prizes and recognizes products that combine exceptional aesthetics with functional innovation.

Red Dot Design Award
The Red Dot Design Award was established in 1955 in Essen, Germany, and is judged by an independent panel of international experts. The products are evaluated based on criteria such as innovation, functionality, ergonomics, durability, and sustainability.
According to Mariana Sousa, Head of Design at Ekornes AS, Stressless® Adam represents an important evolution in the category:
"Stressless® Adam is a bold step forward in the design of motorized recliners. It challenges the conventional idea that functionality must come at the expense of aesthetics. With Stressless® Adam, we have succeeded in harmonizing advanced comfort features with a refined, Scandinavian design language."
The Red Dot jury agreed with this sentiment and stated the following:
"Although the Stressless® Adam chair is clearly aimed at comfort, the Scandinavian-inspired design ensures a harmonious appearance."

The recognition had a personal and professional impact on the design team.
