French Bedroom posts record-breaking growth, driven by innovation and customer focus

Female-founded furniture brand French Bedroom has reported a record-breaking year, with revenues up 30% year-on-year and profits increasing fivefold, marking the second consecutive year of double-digit growth. The brand's performance far exceeds the home and furniture sector's average ecommerce growth of just 1.6%, reflecting the company's strategic focus on own-brand innovation, digital transformation, and a customer-first service model.

Sales of beds rose 30% year-on-year, bedside tables increased 45% following category expansion, and French Bedroom's own-brand mattresses jumped 58%. Gross profit margins reached 60%, supported by a broadened manufacturing network and the success of the brand's ecommerce platform. The company's commitment to premium customer experience is evidenced by its industry-leading 4.8 Trustpilot rating and improved delivery times.

Founded in 2006 by Georgia Metcalfe, French Bedroom prides itself on creating "feminine, authentic and timeless" furniture. Managing Director Holly Yates highlights that the brand's success stems from listening to customer needs, offering quality over price, and blending timeless style with a personalised shopping experience.

Looking ahead to its 20th anniversary in 2026, French Bedroom plans to expand its team, invest in high-performance culture initiatives, and develop partnerships in logistics and marketing, ensuring the brand continues to deliver a premium, concierge-level experience while driving scalable growth.
