Effective 1 December 2025, Küpper will lead Koelnmesse's regional alignment from Singapore, driving the strategic development of established trade fairs and spearheading new event launches in key Asian growth markets. He will also oversee the organisation's joint venture, Expolink Global Network Ltd., and operational activities in Thailand and Singapore. Operational management of the Hong Kong office will be handed to Michiel Kruse, who will continue managing Koelnmesse's Chinese offices in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou.
"Koelnmesse has significantly expanded its portfolio in Asia in recent years, establishing strong positions for leading trade fair brands in dynamic markets," said Küpper. "Our goal is to further strengthen regional collaboration and unlock new opportunities for growth alongside our local teams."
Recent successes include premieres in Bangkok with THAIFEX – HOREC Asia, Anuga Select Japan in Tokyo, and expansion into Indonesia with the International Hardware Fair and interzum jakarta. In 2026, Koelnmesse plans additional platforms such as IFMAC/WOODMAC in Jakarta, continuing its strategic growth trajectory across Asia.
