Humanscale has partnered with Danish textile manufacturer Kvadrat Really to launch circular, textile-based tabletops in the U.S. market. The Kvadrat Really Textile Tabletop™ comprises 70% discarded textiles and 30% waste binder sourced from fashion and textile industries, laundries, and Kvadrat's own offcuts.

The tabletops are produced through a fully mechanical, renewable-energy-powered process that creates durable, scratch-resistant, heat-tolerant surfaces. They offer a 30% reduction in carbon emissions compared with conventional tabletops, while diverting substantial textile waste from landfills. In 2024 alone, Kvadrat Really repurposed 550 tonnes of textile waste, equivalent to roughly 70 shirts or 30 pairs of jeans per 80x160 cm surface.
The Kvadrat Really tabletops are compatible with Humanscale's eFloat Go 2.0 and eFloat Next desk ranges, with plans to expand to Float Gather, Float Mini, Float Micro, and eFloat Quattro. Available in Cotton White with impact-resistant ABS edges, the collection targets contemporary workspaces.
This initiative reflects Humanscale's commitment to regenerative design, material transparency, and UN Global Goal #17: Partnerships for the Goals. Each material is evaluated for chemicals of concern, with ingredient data disclosed through Declare labels and Health Product Declarations. The collaboration represents a significant step towards reducing the environmental impact of global textile production, projected to reach 145 million tonnes by 2030.
The collection is available through Humanscale showrooms and online at www.humanscale.com.
