Former Bravissimo CEO appointed to lead homeware brand icon

Leanne Cahill, former CEO of lingerie retailer Bravissimo, has been appointed CEO of The Bazaar Group, now trading as icon, a North East-based homeware company. Cahill's career spans roles at M&S, Legal & General, Walgreens Boots Alliance, Travelex, and Bravissimo, where she joined in 2017 and became CEO in 2020, leading the company through a successful trade sale to Wacoal Europe in 2024.

Her appointment marks the transition of founder Mark Dolder to a non-executive director role. Founder Jayne Dolder praised Cahill's retail expertise and leadership, citing the company's evolution from Beanbag Bazaar to icon as a move towards a more diverse and considered homewares brand.

Cahill expressed enthusiasm about joining icon, highlighting the talent, ambition, and growth opportunities within the business, as well as its significance for the North East region. Non-executive chairman Craig Wilkinson noted that Cahill's experience and skills make her a strong successor to lead the company forward, building on the success of its European manufacturing and distribution hub opened in September 2022.

The appointment signals a new phase for icon as it aims to strengthen its market presence and expand its homeware offerings under experienced leadership.
