Stark Group reports losses amid German market slump

Stark Group, a leading European construction and building materials company, has reported declines in both revenue and earnings for the 2024/25 fiscal year. Revenue fell slightly to 57.7 billion DKK from 57.9 billion DKK the previous year, a 0.3% drop, while adjusted operating earnings (EBITDA) decreased 0.8% to 2.75 billion DKK.

CEO Søren P. Olesen attributed the downturn to a struggling German market, describing it as a "historic plunge in European construction, the likes of which have not been seen for 30 years." Despite the decline, the company has reportedly gained market share across other regions and continued efforts to expand and strengthen operations.

The net loss reached 2.1 billion DKK, worsening from the prior year's 1.5 billion DKK loss, largely due to depreciation, amortisation, and interest expenses.

Olesen emphasised that Stark Group remains focused on growth and improved earnings as European markets recover from negative growth, signalling a strategic commitment to long-term resilience despite short-term financial setbacks.
