Dille & Kamille replaces customer service with plant service on Black Friday

While many brands are offering discounts, Dille & Kamille is once again closing all its stores and online shops on Black Friday. The brand consciously chooses Green Friday instead, a positive alternative to Black Friday. On this day, Dille & Kamille focuses not on buying and consuming, but on sowing and greening.

No Customer Service, but Plant Service
This year, Dille & Kamille is launching The Plant Service. Through a special phone number, customers will hear a cheerful and inspiring audio message on November 28, encouraging them to embrace greening. In front of the store doors, customers can collect free sachets of herb or flower seeds.

"Today is not about buying, but about making something bloom," says Hans Geels, CEO of Dille & Kamille. "We want to encourage people to consciously reflect on what truly matters. By sowing together and taking action, we are working towards a world with more nature and fewer things."

Collaboration with Free Fashion
This year, Dille & Kamille is collaborating with This is Free Fashion, a platform that promotes circular fashion. Together, they demonstrate that sustainability in all its forms revolves around awareness and action.

"Normally we focus on clothing, but this time greening takes center stage," says Lot van Os, founder of This is Free Fashion. "Whether it's your wardrobe or your garden, buying less and doing more makes a real difference. Together with Dille & Kamille, we show that sustainability can be fun and connecting. It all starts with taking action."

The vision of Dille & Kamille
"We see a world around us that is becoming increasingly hurried and impersonal," says Hans. "A society full of impulses and expectations, where people have little attention for each other and nature. We are concerned about this, and that's why as Dille & Kamille we voice an alternative opinion. We want to show people that things can be different and inspire them to live consciously and sustainably, in harmony with each other and nature. We do this with our range of timeless products, made from natural, renewable materials. But also through our collaboration with WWF, and a green, non-commercial interpretation of Black Friday - or as we call it Green Friday."

Dille & Kamille is about reciprocity, about doing good for nature and for each other, about circular thinking, focused on the long term. "For us, happiness lies in small things, in conscious living, and in attention," says Hans. "We don't say this because it's 'in' now, we've been doing it this way for over 50 years!"

About Dille & Kamille
In 1974, the first Dille & Kamille opened its doors in a wharf cellar on the Oudegracht in Utrecht (Netherlands). A simple 'market shop' with a cheerful and quirky range for home, garden, and kitchen. The core was - and still is after all these years - 'Natural simplicity'. Since 1974, the family business has chosen the power of simplicity and the timeless beauty of natural materials. For sustainable craftsmanship and attention to each other and our environment.

Dille & Kamille currently has 55 branches: 10 in Germany, 29 in the Netherlands, 15 in Belgium, and 1 in France. All stores radiate the same, unique Dille & Kamille atmosphere, yet each has its own identity. Almost the entire range is also available online.
