This edition will focus on three top themes: Sustainable Transformation, Smart Connectivity, and Living Light, reflecting the technological, design-oriented, and societal priorities guiding the industry.
Sustainable transformation
The fair will showcase how architecture, technology, and infrastructure can form an energy-efficient whole, covering intelligent energy management, renewable energy integration, smart grids, e-charging infrastructure, and urban development solutions that combine energy, mobility, and design.
Smart connectivity
Buildings are increasingly digital systems with multiple interfaces. This theme highlights IoT, AI, BIM, digital twins, cybersecurity, and predictive maintenance, showing how connected technologies enhance planning, operation, and sustainable building management.
Living light
Light is more than illumination – it creates atmosphere, supports functionality, influences wellbeing, and transforms spaces. This theme presents adaptive, human-centric lighting systems, outdoor lighting, New Work solutions, and immersive designs for public, retail, and private environments.
Comprehensive exhibitor and program highlights
Visitors will experience a broad spectrum of lighting and building-services technologies, from functional and decorative lighting to automation systems, smart energy solutions, and urban infrastructure. Key exhibitors include Osram, Signify, ABB, Siemens, Schneider Electric, and many more.
The event also features the Design Plaza, showcasing the Designplus Awards powered by Light + Building, the IALD International Lighting Design Awards, Architects' Day, Workshop Street, Power Creator Days, and forums such as the ZVEI Technology Forum and ZVEH E-House. These platforms foster dialogue, inspire professionals, and provide practical insights for future-ready planning, construction, and living.
Steffen Larbig, Director Brand Management for Light + Building, emphasises:
"Light + Building 2026 connects professionals from architecture, planning, industry, the skilled trades, real estate, and the public sector. Our top themes focus attention on the developments shaping lighting and building technology today – and which will be essential tomorrow."
