The Boku armchair combines Japanese heritage with contemporary design. It features clean, minimalist lines, an oak frame, and a padded, enveloping seat that delivers both comfort and elegance. The backrest is crafted from igusa, the traditional reed used for tatami mats, reinterpreted in a modern context to harmonise with oak and walnut finishes and complement contemporary interiors.
Beyond its aesthetic appeal, igusa offers substantial technical benefits. It is easy to clean and replace, absorbs nitrogen dioxide and formaldehyde, regulates ambient humidity, and, thanks to specialised treatments, is durable and long-lasting. Each armchair is crafted in Japan using traditional artisanal methods, from planting and harvesting the igusa to hand weaving, ensuring a minimal environmental footprint and a fully sustainable production process.
With the Boku armchair, Look into Nature demonstrates its commitment to producing furniture that blends elegance, comfort, and sustainability. The collection transforms natural materials into contemporary objects of both aesthetic and functional value, reinforcing the brand's position as a leader in environmentally responsible design.
The recognition at the Archiproducts Design Awards not only highlights the technical and aesthetic excellence of the BOKU armchair but also celebrates Look into Nature's ability to marry heritage craftsmanship with modern sustainability practices.
This award underscores Look into Nature's commitment to sustainable design, combining traditional Japanese craftsmanship with modern environmental responsibility and contemporary elegance.
