Drewry's World Container Index (WCI) rose 8% this week to $1,959 per 40ft container, marking the fourth consecutive weekly increase following a 17-week decline. Spot rates from Shanghai to Los Angeles climbed 9% to $2,647, while shipments to New York increased 8% to $3,837, driven by general rate increases (GRIs) introduced on 1 November.
