An interview with Niels Fullerton-Batten, Sales Director at Addlux.

Addlux celebrating 15 years of lighting innovation with its debut at LiGHT 25

This November, the London-based lighting company, Addlux, now celebrating its 15th anniversary, makes its debut at LiGHT 25; a fitting stage for a brand that has quietly transformed the way architects, designers and manufacturers think about illumination.

Speaking during an interview with InteriorDaily, Niels Fullerton-Batten, Sales Director at Addlux, shared the company's vision and motivation for entering LiGHT 25. "We'd like to shout out a bit more about what we do, how we actually do lighting differently than others," he explained.

For Addlux, the decision to exhibit is both symbolic and strategic. 'Lighting is changing,' Niels explains, 'and we want to help people reimagine what lighting can actually do.' Known for its tailored, highly adaptable systems, Addlux stands apart in a sector often dominated by standardisation.

Reimagining lighting solutions
While many suppliers focus on catalogues of fixed designs, Addlux takes a different route. 'We start with the customer's vision,' says Niels. 'Then we develop solutions based on that vision.' From illuminated ceilings and walls to bespoke lift lighting and ultra-thin panels, every Addlux product can be customised in brightness, temperature, power consumption and energy efficiency.

The company's strength lies not only in its engineering expertise but also in its service philosophy. 'We actually sell a service rather than a product,' Niels notes. 'The product is the end result of a collaborative process.' This consultative, flexible approach has made Addlux a preferred partner for projects spanning retail, hospitality and high-end residential design, right up to luxury developments and even sports facilities across the globe.

Innovation and sustainability
Energy efficiency is a guiding principle in everything Addlux creates. 'Things should look good, but they should also be energy efficient,' says Niels. 'I'm a strong believer that beauty and sustainability should go hand in hand.'

Addlux continues to push boundaries with refined LED technologies, exploring new materials and configurations that achieve greater light uniformity with less energy use. Its ongoing focus on precision engineering and sustainability ensures each solution performs at the highest level; technically, visually and environmentally.

'Innovation for us isn't about creating products for the sake of it,' Niels adds. 'It's about designing smarter solutions that make sense for our clients and for the planet.'

Lighting up LiGHT 25
At LiGHT 25, Addlux intends to make a statement worthy of its milestone year. The stand will showcase the company's five core lighting solutions, each demonstrating its distinctive approach to customisation, precision and design flexibility. Visitors will be able to explore illuminated surfaces; including a striking illuminated tabletop, and see, touch and experience the difference that bespoke engineering makes.

'We want people to understand that we don't just sell lights,' Niels explains. 'We create systems that become part of the architecture itself; lighting that enhances both function and atmosphere.'

Beyond unveiling its latest energy-efficient designs, Addlux is also using the event to build new relationships and expand into international markets. 'We're looking to connect with designers, specifiers and distributors from Europe, the Middle East and North America,' says Niels. 'LiGHT 25 offers the perfect platform to do just that.'

Above all, Addlux wants visitors to leave inspired. 'I want them to look at lighting in a new way, to see how it can be flexible, human and creative,' Niels says. 'We're not just another supplier; we're collaborators helping to bring a vision to life.'

To close, Niels hints that Addlux will unveil something unique in the days leading up to LiGHT 25, an experience designed to elevate how visitors engage with its lighting. The details remain under wraps for now, but it promises to bring a fresh dimension to the company's already forward-thinking showcase.
