GANDIABLASCO blurs indoor and outdoor boundaries in 2026 collection

'The essence: to bring the calm and warmth of the home to the exterior and vice versa'

GANDIABLASCO's Outdoor/Indoor Annex 2026 positions itself around the concept of seamless integration between exterior and interior spaces. The collection emphasizes a continuum where terraces, gardens, and balconies operate as extensions of the home environment, reflecting a design philosophy that considers material, function, and context.

According to the press release, the new catalogue foregrounds a combination of semi-industrial processes and artisanal techniques, with limited editions produced under the GANDIABLASCO EDITION framework. "This space is dedicated to unique pieces that communicate the material's origin and the manufacturing process," the company states.

Materiality and craft
Several products in the catalogue showcase experimentation with materials and construction methods. The HOS chaise lounge and ottoman, designed by Kengo Kuma, employ iroko wood and Japanese joinery techniques such as Okuriari. Kuma also integrates methods developed with Indian artisans, named MOYA MOYA, SARA SARA, and SHITO SHITO, which aim to establish structural subtlety while connecting the object to its environment.

The DUNNE collection by Nao Tamura explores extrusion and manual assembly of recyclable aluminium, translating natural forms such as sand dunes into functional furniture elements. Meanwhile, CORD by Groundwork Studio reinterprets traditional Danish paper cord techniques using outdoor-appropriate polyester ropes on thin stainless steel frameworks, combining ergonomic design with ventilation for outdoor use.

Spatial and functional design
Architectural elements such as the CONO pergola by José A. Gandía-Blasco Canales integrate LED lighting with a combination of manual and industrial methods, creating adaptable and illuminated outdoor spaces. Complementing the structural pieces are accessory-driven designs: the NEDRA kitchen by Fran Silvestre and modular DJ Booth solutions emphasise functional interventions for social and recreational outdoor contexts.

Lighting and material experimentation continue with the ARIA luminaire collection by Mayice, crafted entirely by hand in rural India. Similarly, smaller functional pieces like the Espagueti Chair by Erre Arquitectura and Brisa Parasol balance simplicity, durability, and usability in outdoor environments.

Integration and versatility
The 2026 annex underscores cross-contextual design, where outdoor furnishings can be adapted with interior fabrics and GAN artisan rugs, as seen in pieces like ONDE by Luca Nichetto and ONSEN by Francesco Meda & David Quincoces. Upholstered collections (ERNO, MASS) and modular items (GRAPY, SAIL, ARAM, IRIS) further demonstrate the brand's approach to flexibility and spatial coherence.

"The final essence is to blur the boundaries: to bring the calm and warmth of the home to the exterior and vice versa," the company notes.

B2B relevance
For manufacturers, architects, and interior designers, GANDIABLASCO's 2026 annex provides a reference in material experimentation, semi-industrial production, and integration of indoor-outdoor programs. The collection exemplifies how design strategies can address durability, adaptability, and multi-context functionality, all key considerations in contemporary European interior and exterior markets.
