A brand-new Kutchenhaus showroom has officially opened its doors in Lytham, Lancashire, revitalising the historic site once occupied by the beloved Tavernors of Lytham variety store. Owner Darren Worthington, a seasoned kitchen expert with 18 years' experience at Howdens, is bringing his first independent venture to life, blending modern innovation with a respect for local heritage.

Situated on the corner of Clifton Street and Bannister Street, the Lytham showroom showcases German-engineered kitchens alongside state-of-the-art appliances from brands such as AEG, Bosch, NEFF, Siemens, Hotpoint, and BORA. With a focus on quality, reliability, and flexibility, the space aims to offer customers not only functional kitchens but also a deeply personalised design experience.
"The whole project has been very exciting," says Worthington. "Occupying the previous location of Tavernors means I have a legacy to honour. I want to create somewhere that people are proud to visit, while showing what is possible in a modern kitchen."
The showroom features nine fully furnished kitchen displays, representing a mix of contemporary and traditional styles. Customers can interact with a working kitchen environment, testing appliances and experiencing layouts first-hand. Additional displays include a media wall, bathroom, bedroom dresser, laundry, and utility area, allowing visitors to explore design possibilities across multiple living spaces.
Worthington emphasises the importance of collaboration with clients: "Meeting new people and understanding how they live is key. I combine their vision with research into their tastes, creating spaces they're proud to show off. The choice of cabinets and unit sizes from Kutchenhaus means we can deliver a wide variety of styles and colours, all backed by exceptional German engineering."
