Key drivers of growth included Amazon Web Services (AWS), whose sales rose by 20%, the fastest growth since 2022. Operating income remained flat at £13.3 bn ($17.4 bn), partly due to a £1.9 bn ($2.5 bn) Federal Trade Commission charge linked to Prime membership allegations. The company also forecast £1.37 bn ($1.8 bn) in severance costs from planned workforce reductions.
Looking ahead, Amazon expects Q4 revenue growth between 10–13%. CEO Andy Jassy highlighted:
- AI-driven improvements across all areas of the business
- Expansion of same-day grocery delivery to 2,300 communities by year-end
- Doubling the number of rural communities with access to same-day and next-day delivery
- Continued innovation in the fulfillment network for faster Prime deliveries
Amazon's performance underscores the ongoing importance of cloud services and AI integration, alongside continued investment in logistics and delivery infrastructure.
