Kirkland's Home is set to close dozens of stores this year as its owner, Brand House Collective, seeks to relaunch the Bed Bath & Beyond brand. Among the closures is the Gilroy, California store, located at the Highway 101-152 interchange. Other California locations affected include Fresno, Apple Valley, Palmdale, Redlands, Lake Elsinore, Livermore, and Vacaville.

The company plans to convert some existing Kirkland's Home stores, primarily in the eastern United States, into Bed Bath & Beyond Home stores. After filing for Chapter 11 in 2023 and shuttering all physical locations, the first new store opened in Nashville in August 2025, followed by two additional openings. Brand House aims to have approximately 80 stores operating under the new brand by the end of 2026.
Executive Chairman Marcus Lemonis confirmed that no new stores would open in California, citing the state's "unfriendly attitude toward business," a stance that drew criticism from Governor Gavin Newsom's office on social media.
Kirkland's Home is unrelated to Costco, despite sharing the Kirkland name. The closures reflect a broader strategy to consolidate operations and support the Bed Bath & Beyond relaunch.
