Trump completes marble makeover of White House Lincoln Bathroom

President Donald Trump has finished a full renovation of the White House Lincoln Bathroom, replacing 1940s-era green Art Deco tiles with black and white polished Statuary marble. Trump shared before-and-after images on Truth Social, describing the previous design as "totally inappropriate for the Lincoln Era." The updated bathroom includes gold fixtures on the faucet and shower handle, a silver chandelier, and a white robe with the presidential seal on a golden hook.

Trump argued the new design is historically appropriate and could match the original marble from Lincoln's time. The renovation follows broader changes at the White House, including the demolition of the East Wing to construct a 90,000-square-foot, $300 million private donor-funded ballroom.

At the same event, Trump also announced updates to the Palm Room, installing a "magnificent book matched statuary marble floor" with new lighting and chandeliers to replace worn tiles.

The project marks a dramatic shift from the mid-century style that had characterised the Lincoln Bathroom for eight decades, aligning the space with Trump's vision of historical fidelity and luxury.

The renovations are part of an ongoing effort by Trump to reshape White House interiors while emphasising high-end materials and period-appropriate design.
