The European industry gathers in the Belgian capital:

Brussels Furniture Fair 2025 opens its doors

The Brussels Furniture Fair 2025 opened its doors yesterday, Sunday, 2 November, welcoming industry professionals from across Europe to the Brussels Expo. Running until Wednesday, 5 November, the fair once again positions itself as a meeting point for manufacturers, retailers, designers, and suppliers active in the European furniture and interior sector.

General atmosphere of the fair in Brussels.

With its focus on retail, contract, and design, the Brussels Furniture Fair presents a comprehensive overview of current developments in furniture, bedding, and outdoor living. This year's edition builds on several ongoing initiatives that have helped redefine the event's structure over recent years, including Outdoor Living, Brussels by Night, and the Belgian Design Island.

Outdoor Living grows to international level
Introduced last year, the Outdoor Living platform has evolved into a dedicated showcase for brands active in garden, terrace, and leisure furniture. Exhibitors such as Roolf Living, Wünder, Umbrosa, Tooon by Toon De Somer, Chill Line, Richmond, Mazu, Soho, and Gescova are presenting their new collections in this space, reflecting the sector's growing importance within the European market.

The area also includes an informal networking space, described by organisers as "an outdoor drink experience" featuring a Belgian mocktail bar designed to encourage relaxed encounters between exhibitors and visitors.

Brussels by Night continues to expand
The Brussels by Night section, launched in 2022 to strengthen the fair's bedding and sleep segment, continues to attract increasing international attention. The line-up this year includes Schramm Betten, Harrison Spinks, Le Sommeil Français, Aya of Sweden, and a strong presence from Belgian brands such as LS Bedding, Belgian Bedding, and Meubelfabriek Jooken.

'Our main goal remains to offer continuity,' a spokesperson explained. 'We do that with our well-known exhibitors such as Revor Bedding, Equilli, Kreamat, Polypreen, Van Landschoot, Adova, Hilding Anders, Nill Spring, Recor Bedding, Aya of Sweden, Mahoton, Carlina, and Brinkhaus.'

Contract and project markets gain relevance
Reflecting broader shifts in the industry, the fair continues to highlight exhibitors with a dual focus on both retail and contract markets. The organisers note that an increasing number of furniture producers are diversifying toward the hospitality and office sectors. 'Our offer gets a little broader every year,' a representative said, 'and that goes hand in hand with reaching a wider audience.'

Companies operating in the contract market can be identified on-site by the contract logo, displayed on both floor plans and signage. The fair team also engages directly with contract buyers through partnerships with hotel and project industry events.

Belgian Design Island moves to Hall 5
The Belgian Design Island, a platform dedicated to young designers, emerging studios, and established brands, has been relocated to Hall 5 this year. This redesign aims to give visibility to local talent and encourage cross-generational exchange within the Belgian design ecosystem.

'Students, young enterprises, established values, and start-ups, they are all covered here,' the organisers said. The new layout also includes design-driven installations that define the entrance area of Hall 5, connecting design with spatial experience.

New exhibitors and returning names
This year's edition sees the arrival of several new and returning exhibitors, including Bree's New World, Bert Plantagie, Diva Divani, Feel Design, Gregoir, Benix, Puszman, Comforteo, Kristensen & Kristensen, Jakobsen Home, Sympa, RB Collection, Gautier, and Gami.

As in previous editions, the fair aims to balance established European manufacturers with newcomers, offering buyers and designers a broad perspective on the furniture market as it moves into 2026.

A platform for the European industry
Running for four days at Brussels Expo, the fair continues to play a role as a cross-border trade platform linking the Benelux region with Central and Northern Europe. With its mix of retail-oriented and contract exhibitors, the event reflects current industry dynamics shaped by fluctuating consumer spending, evolving production models, and renewed focus on design identity.

The Brussels Furniture Fair 2025 will remain open to trade visitors until Tuesday, 5 November, with exhibitors across multiple halls presenting new concepts, collections, and collaborations.
