In Milan, homes near the Monumental Cemetery average over €7,100 per square metre, roughly €1,500 above the city average. Florence follows with €5,700/m² near the Porte Sante Cemetery, while in Rome, properties near Verano Cemetery cost more than €5,000/m², above the city average of €3,641/m².
By contrast, some locations offer savings: Turin's Monumental Cemetery averages €2,000/m², and Messina near its Monumental Cemetery averages just €874/m², both below city norms. Other relatively affordable locations include Brescia (€1,900/m²) and Palermo (€1,232/m²).
The study highlights how proximity to monumental cemeteries can be either a premium or budget-friendly choice, depending on the city.
