Ingka Centres, part of the Ingka Group which includes Ikea Retail, has appointed Mário Barros as Manager of Markets Centers for Southwest Europe. He will oversee ten shopping centres across France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, the United Kingdom and Croatia, including the Italie Deux centre in Paris.

Barros will manage operational performance and market development strategy, leading a team of over 90 employees and coordinating with external service providers to enhance the appeal of Ingka's retail locations. The group's Southwestern European portfolio attracts 85 million visitors annually, with 772 brands across 1,171 stores generating over €1.5 billion in turnover. Strategic focus also includes cities such as London and Lisbon.
Barros joined Ingka Centres in 2008 as a sales manager and has served as operations manager for Southwest Europe since 2019. On his promotion, he stated, 'I owe this appointment to all my colleagues with whom I have shared this journey at Ingka Centres… we have created a culture of collaboration, trust and positive ambition. It is in this spirit that we will continue to work with our current and future partners to shape a future that has a real impact on their businesses, on people and on the planet.'
