The 2025 Quote 500 has been released

Three billionaires and seventeen millionaires in the Dutch interior sector

The Quote 500 of 2025 once again counts 52 billionaires, and just like last year, we find on this rich list a considerable number of entrepreneurs from the interior and home industry. From window coverings and fragrance sticks to kitchens, Christmas balls, and flower pots made of recycled plastic: the interior industry proves to be a source of dazzling success for 20 entrepreneurs. And again, not a woman in sight.

In total, the wealth of the 500 richest Dutch people grew by 7.9% to a record of €272.75 billion. The threshold for inclusion is now €140 million, ten million more than last year. Time to see who from our interior world has (again) made the list this year.

1. Ralph Sonnenberg – Hunter Douglas / Luxaflex
Position: 3 (last year 2) – Wealth: €7 billion
The 91-year-old "blinds king" has dropped one spot, but his fortune remains impressive. From his Swiss castle, Ralph oversees a billion-dollar empire in window coverings. His son David acts as a supervisory director, while he still owns a quarter of the shares. Hunter Douglas once again recorded an annual revenue of around $4.5 billion. Who would have thought sunshades could be such a goldmine?

2. Raymond Cloosterman – Rituals Cosmetics
Position: 9 (last year 20) – Wealth: €2.9 billion (+45%)
The fragrant grower of Rituals is celebrating the brand's 25th anniversary this year with a dinner at the Rijksmuseum. Cloosterman sometimes has to pinch himself: Rituals achieved €2.1 billion in revenue in 2024, with a profit of €260 million. With a promise to donate 10% of profits to charity, he proves that success can also smell sweet.

3. Ben Mandemakers – Mandemakers Group
Position: 24 (last year 28) – Wealth: €2 billion
The "kitchen king" remains royally wealthy. With brands like KeukenConcurrent, Brugman, and Woonexpress, he fills Dutch homes—and his bank account—daily. Even the collapse of Stella Fietsen, once part of his empire, couldn't shake his fortune.

4. & 5. Wouter Bakker & Gerjan den Hartog – VidaXL
Position: 116 and 118 (last year 103 and 105) – Wealth: €485 million each
The duo from Venlo literally sells everything: from garden sets to cat scratching posts. Their web store VidaXL had a revenue of over €750 million in 2024, with €30 million profit. The profit may be modest compared to their range of products, but their place on the Quote 500 remains solid.

6. Jos van Tol – Kaemingk Decorations
Position: 163 (last year 149) – Wealth: €390 million
The "Christmas king" of the Netherlands has been decorating millions of homes worldwide for years. His company remains profitable, despite slightly lower figures. Van Tol recently bought a mansion in Putten—hopefully with enough room for a few thousand Christmas baubles.

7. Philip Sluiter – Inventum and kitchen manufacturer Bribus
Position: 206 (last year 226) – Wealth: €275 million
The kitchen appliance giant continues to operate solidly with its well-known brands. No spectacular increase, but Sluiter supplies thousands of stoves, ovens, and dishwashers to households that take cooking comfort seriously every day.

8. & 9. Jan & Gerrit Hoekman – Condor Group
Position: 208 (last year 195) – Wealth: €320 million
The Hoekman brothers have slightly dropped. Their Condor Group, one of Europe's largest flooring manufacturers, exports carpet and vinyl to over 100 countries. Their floors may be soft, but their figures are far from it.

10. & 11. Henk & Mark van Cranenbroek – Van Cranenbroek
Position: 238 (last year 206) – Wealth: €290 million
The brothers from Budel are still successful with their garden and camping stores. While others worry about nitrogen, they peak in revenue. Whether or not they still argue, their wealth continues to grow steadily.

12. Robbert Jan Dekker – Koninklijke Dekker
Position: 310 (last year 347) – Wealth: €195 million
Dekker proves that wood is still gold. His family business, a supplier of wood for interior construction and sustainable projects, keeps the tradition alive with healthy profits and a solid place on the list.

13. & 14. & 15. Rob, Mark & Pieter Diks – Swiss Sense
Position: 372 (last year 312) – Wealth: €190 million
The Diks brothers still sleep soundly. Swiss Sense is expanding internationally, with new stores in Germany and Scandinavia. Apparently, a good night's sleep doesn't just provide energy—it also brings in millions.

16. Rob Teunissen – Saniweb / Sphinx
Position: 411 (last year 398) – Wealth: €175 million
The "bathroom baron" is doing well. With brands like Saniweb and Sphinx, he remains a key player in the sanitary market. His wealth may not be overflowing, but his market position is rock solid.

The combined wealth of the Quote 500 has grown by nearly €20 billion. The Dutch economy grew a modest 1%, but the richest did much better. The number of billionaires remained the same at 52, and the threshold for entry is now €140 million. Crypto and AI entrepreneurs are the fastest risers, but our home interior billionaires are hardly lagging behind. From Luxaflex to lavender scents, the Dutch interior industry once again proves to be a source of sparkling success.
