Magnet, the UK kitchen retailer owned by Nobia, has announced that Sophie Rose will succeed George Dymond as head of the UK business. Dymond, executive vice president and head of region, is stepping down after overseeing a turnaround that saw Q1 and Q2 profits rise by SEK 38m (£3m) and SEK 190m (£15.1m) year-on-year, respectively.

Dymond joined Magnet in 2023 and became UK head of region in March 2024. During his tenure, he implemented an "asset-light" store strategy with smaller high-street locations and launched Magnet's first franchise store model, setting the stage for further expansion.
Sophie Rose, who joined Magnet nearly two years ago, has served as director of company experience and most recently as commercial & customer director. The company cited her extensive retail experience and pivotal role in shaping its three-year strategy as reasons for her appointment.
Commenting on the transition, Dymond said he is confident the business is in "excellent hands" with Rose. Rose stated she is excited to lead Magnet into its next phase, building on the momentum of the first year of the transformation plan and continuing to help customers realise their kitchen projects.
